On Wednesday the 27th of March we restarted the Kyalami Night ride in the area, catering to a wide variety of cyclists and skills levels.
The initiative was started in order to raise funds for KEROA as well as the Midrand Sector 4 CPF in order to help improve the area for the residents.
We sold over 90 tickets and therefore raised a total of R4 288.38. With the partnership with the Sector 4 CPF, a total of R2144.00 was donated to the CPF for their assistance with the event.
The ride started at 18:00 from KEP and consisted of a 20km route, lead by the Tac 54 private security team (who provide security at Prison Break market) in a vehicle as well as CPF members on motorcycles, who assisted in temporally closing busy roads for riders to cross. The riders made their way through Kyalami AH Ext 1, Glenferness, Helderfontein and back through Kyalami AH Ext 1.
We were also assisted by various CPF members and KEROA committee members with sweep vehicles, just in case someone found the route a bit tough or for those who had mechanical issues.
The route ended back at KEP where the riders were able to relax and enjoy some food and drinks at the TLC@KEP restaurant.
We would like to thank all those involved in making this a success and look forward to hosting many more such events! The night ride will be hosted on the last Wednesday of every month, so if you missed out on the first event, join us at the next ride on the 24th of April.
